 Interzum 2019

It’s #FeatureFriday and we’ve got some exciting news to share. Team LDL are heading to Cologne for Interzum 2019!

What is Interzum?

Taking place next week, between the 21st – 24th, Interzum is the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design. A bi-annual event housed in Cologne Germany, it attracts companies and designers from the entire globe. If you aren’t fortunate enough to be attending, worry not! We’ll be taking photos, videos and livestreams of all the highlights and reporting back on all the trends and innovations we see. Just like we did for the SICAM exhibit in Vence!

From Blum, to furnipart, L&S, Peka and Wesco; there’s so many internationally renowned brands exhibiting we simply couldn’t list them all. From revealing new product lines to discussing future developments and exciting new directions, every exhibitor has so much on offer. We’ll be touring every single one of our suppliers stands (not to mention the thousands of other exhibits) to give you the very latest insights into the future of all things Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom. There are no words to do justice to the scale and importance of such a prestigious event, but we can delve into some of the highlights from the previous show!

Interzum 2017

We were fortunate enough to attend 2017’s exhibition, and like every year before, the scale and scope of the industry just blew us away. With an estimated 70,000 attendees, sourced from some 152 countries, it was an amazing experience where the world of design was laid bare and we got to step into the beating heart of the Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom business.
The exhibition was a hotbed of innovation and gave voice to a myriad of experts and specialists throughout. Utilising the show as a platform for change and addressing global trends is just one of the many reasons designers the world over flock to visit.

2017 broached many exciting themes and ideas for trade visitors. It demonstrated that outstanding innovations in furniture production and interior construction are constantly being developed. New materials, technologies and design approaches were just some of the key areas that the trade fair focused on.

The products on display ranged from fittings, surfaces and decors to textiles, glass and lighting all the way through to innovative materials. An there were a plethora of special events at the trade fair examining global trends such as sustainability, digitalisation and mobility.

“It was the best Interzum ever” said organiser and Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH, Kathrina C. Hamma. "Interzum has reached a new level with the rises in visitor figures, the growth in exhibitor numbers and the increase in floor space combined with measures to enhance the event’s quality.”

2019 is set to be even better. With expected record turnout, in terms of both visitors and exhibitors; it promises to be a truly spectacular event. With such a volume of talent and innovation on display, not to mention the vast array of products and designs being showcased, it can be difficult to take it all in. That’s why team LDL will be doing the rounds and overworking our pedometers to create a reel of all the highlights!
