#FeatureFriday - Jess

- 12/04/2019 @ 15:20

For this week’s FeatureFriday, we wanted to use it as an opportunity to pay tribute to a much beloved member of the team. Jess is part of the fabric of the company and helps us add that dash of LDL magic to everything we do.

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce her departure from the business as she returns home to Bath to be nearer to her family. While this news is unfortunate, I know I speak for everyone at LDL when I say we wish her the very best of fortune in this new step.

Yet, rather than be sad about a dear friend leaving us, we choose instead to celebrate her time here and the myriad of achievements and improvements she helped accomplish for LDL.

So Jess, how long have you been with LDL?

“All in, nearly 9 years!”

And am I right in thinking you started in the LDL’s southern branch, in Bath?

“I’m from Bath originally, but when the company moved up north to our lovely new offices in Hadfield, I came with them. For reasons both personal and business related, it was a no brainer for me to take the opportunity.”
What’s your role here?

"I’m the Sales Administration & Customer Service Team Leader, or queen, or sometimes mother hen!"

And what does that entail?

"Building up the Sales Administration team, the management of inbound customer calls and queries, helping to resolve issues as they arise. Just monitoring activity and doing my part to ensure everything is as smooth as possible for the customer."

And drawing on your time here, why should somebody choose LDL?

“Because we genuinely care about what we do. Everybody is so invested, that’s what makes us different. I’m so proud of the dedication and expertise our team have, it’s really quite special.”
What’s been your favourite thing about working here?

“LDL’s so unique, there really isn’t anywhere else like it. It isn’t just a place we come to work, we’re so service driven we really want to be here.”

She went on to say, “My favourite achievement from my time here was utilizing my experience within LDL to build up the Sales team. To see them operate at such a high standard today, it just makes me really proud and I know they’ll continue to go from strength to strength.”
And, unfortunate as it is, why are you moving?

Leaving a place I love so much is surreal, bizarre and sad all at once. I’m moving home to be closer to my family, I’m so family orientated I just miss them, but I’ll miss everyone here immensely too. I absolutely love it here, I adore LDL and how passionate everyone is; I’d take LDL with me if I could!”
And finally, to put you on the spot, how would you sum up your time here?

“It’s been fun, it’s been exciting and it’s been stressful, in a good way! No day is ever the same because we’re always improving; we’re always developing new and better ways to operate. I feel lucky to have been given the opportunity to work with such passionate people. It’s been fantastic, LDL has taught me so much about myself and helped me achieve things I never thought possible.”
High praise indeed!  As with everything we do here, we like to see the opportunity to improve in everything and this is no different. Whilst we prepare to bid farewell, Jess has been busily instigating training and guiding various members of the LDL team on how best to fulfil her role. While we’re sorry to see her go, we couldn’t have asked for a better teacher to guide and inform this transition. She leaves our customers in very capable hands!

I’m sure you’ll all join us in bidding a fond farewell to Jess and wishing her well in this exciting new adventure. It’s always sad to part with a dear friend and colleague, but we should not say how sad it is that such a thing should happen, but instead how grateful we are to know such a fantastic individual in the first place. We’ll leave you with some words from the woman herself…
“There will always be a bit of LDL with me. I am who I am because of this company and I have the team to thank for that. I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished and what I know they’ll go on to accomplish in future.”
